We are pleased to announce that Bramley Precision Aerospace Ltd has acquired the assets, goodwill and intellectual property of SFM Technology Ltd, creating a new sister company to Bramley Engineering.
For our existing customers,
Bramley Aerospace brings a connection to a broader range of engineering and manufacturing support, from precision-machined components and prototypes to fabrication and complete assemblies.
Based at an established facility in Martock, Somerset, the business combines an experienced manufacturing team with specialist machinery, supporting aerospace, defence and wider industry.
The acquired Martock operation will move forward under two specialist brands:
- Bramley Aerospace: Focused on advanced engineering and manufacturing, building on the team’s technical expertise to deliver precision-engineered components and specialist solutions.
- Bramley Harvesting (new website coming soon): Continuing the long-established specialist fruit harvesting machinery operation, building on its engineering knowledge and experience in supporting fruit growers.
What does this mean for Bramley Engineering customers?
If you need a bespoke component manufactured, help developing a prototype or a fabricated assembly produced for a wider project, Bramley Aerospace gives you access to a team that can support those requirements. Depending on your project, that support could include:
- Bespoke components: Precision machining for parts made to your drawings or specification.
- Replacement parts: Manufacturing support when you need a component produced for existing equipment.
- Design and prototyping: Help developing an idea into a practical design and manufactured prototype.
- Fabrication and assembly: Support with projects requiring cutting, forming, welding and fitting.
- Additional production capacity: Manufacturing support for one-off requirements or production runs.
Building on decades of engineering experience
While Bramley Aerospace is a new name, the Martock team’s engineering and manufacturing experience stretches back more than 40 years.
The business began in 1985 as Somerset Fruit Machinery, designing and manufacturing bespoke equipment before expanding into advanced manufacturing and aerospace engineering. Following the acquisition, Bramley Aerospace is carrying that knowledge and capability forward, with trading continuing from the Martock site.
Although aerospace and defence are important markets for the business, its services are relevant to a much wider range of organisations. The team also supports projects across utilities, rail and transport, civil engineering and general manufacturing.
What does Bramley Aerospace do?
Bramley Aerospace’s engineering services bring together design, machining, fabrication and assembly, helping customers take projects from an initial requirement through to a finished component or assembly.
Capabilities at the Martock facility include:
Having these capabilities under one roof allows the team to support projects that require several manufacturing processes, including one-off components, prototypes, production runs and complete fabricated assemblies.
Two specialist engineering businesses
Bramley Engineering has been solving specialist engineering and lifting challenges since 1979, and the new sister company creates opportunities to apply that practical approach to a wider range of customer requirements.
Graham Bramley, Managing Director, said:
“Bramley Engineering has always been about finding practical solutions to difficult engineering problems. Bramley Aerospace gives us the opportunity to build on that approach in a much broader manufacturing environment, bringing together experienced people, specialist machinery and a wide range of capabilities.”
The two businesses each have their own specialist focus, with opportunities to work together where a project calls for both lifting and manufacturing expertise.
Emma Bramley, Account Director, said:
“This is an exciting development for the Bramley businesses. We have built long-standing relationships by being approachable, flexible and focused on finding the right solution for each customer. Bramley Aerospace gives us another way to apply those values and support customers with a much wider range of engineering and manufacturing requirements.”
