Bramley Engineering was founded by John Bramley in 1979 and became a registered company in 1981.

John started his career at Herbert Morris Ltd (Morris Cranes) where he served a five year apprenticeship and gained an H.N.C. in mechanical and structural engineering. He worked for the same company in South Africa as a design draughtsman and contracts manager. He later joined another crane company in Johannesburg (Hubert Davies) where he gained experience in production and marketing and rose to the position of MD. This was followed by his return to the UK and the founding of Bramley Engineering.

John’s son Graham joined the company in 1988 stating out doing the accounts going on to expand the lifting tackle side of the business, with his attention to detail he quickly built up a loyal customer base . The ever changing Health & Safety regulations required an update to our systems and procedures, a challenge that Graham met by creating a bespoke database system using his extensive IT knowledge. This allows our customers to easily adhere to these regulations.

With the lifting tackle side of the business running smoothly he turned his attend to the design of Cranes and bespoke lifting solutions. Using knowledge gained whilst assisting with installations over the years he continues to liaise with the rest of the team to come up with new and innovative designs and installation procedures. He then went on to implement a new CAD system into the company in particular the Inventor simulated analysis of structural steelwork.

Graham succeeded John as MD of the company in 2008 and together with his wife Emma as fellow director they have continued to improve procedures and working practices. Graham’s love of design has seen us continue to meet the requirements of our customers and have in the last couple of years produced our biggest and best cranes ever.

Utilities, Rail, Aerospace, Transport, Civil Engineering alongside providing cranes and lifting equipment to numerous businesses across the UK.
